System Terms and Conditions
Standard Terms and Conditions of Use 2026/08/26 By creating an account, submitting content, or otherwise using the Platform, the user acknowledges that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions of Use. The Platform is managed by SEPLS Carbon Credit Regional Revitalization Center (SEPLS CCRRC), herein referred to as the "Center". 1. Acceptance of These Terms and Eligibility 1.1. Your access to and use of the Platform is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, registered users, applicants, developers, reviewers, and any other person who accesses or uses the Platform. 1.2. You must be at least 18 years of age to register an account or submit content to the Platform. 1.3. If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of an organization (for example, as a Developer, Funder, or applicant to the Biodiversity Greenhouse Gas Removal Program), you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms, and "you" and "your" in that context refers to both you, individually and the organization. 1.4. If you do not agree to these Terms or our Privacy Policy, you must not use the Platform. 2. Relationship to Our Privacy Policy By using the Platform, you also agree to be bound by our Privacy Policy, which explains what personal data we collect and how we use it. 3. Definitions •"Submission" means any methodology, module, project proposal, monitoring report, verification report, conference abstract, or other content you upload to the Platform. •"Developer" means the individual or organization that authored or is responsible for a Submission. •"Reviewer" means an individual assigned by the Center or suggested by a Developer and approved by the Center, to evaluate a Submission. •"Program" means the Methodology and Module system, the Biodiversity Greenhouse Gas Removal Program, or the Conference system, as context requires. •"Account Holder" means the individual or organization that has registered an account or opened an ID on the Platform. 4. Account Registration and Security 4.1. To use most Services, you must register an account and provide accurate, current, and complete information. 4.2. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at sepls.crr.cert@gmail.com of any suspected unauthorized access to your account. 4.3. We are not responsible for any loss arising from your failure to safeguard your login credentials. 5. Prohibited Uses You agree not to use the Platform: •for any unlawful purpose, or to solicit others to perform unlawful acts; •to submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information or documents, including in connection with the Biodiversity Greenhouse Gas Removal Program's applicant verification process; •to infringe the intellectual property rights of the Center or any third party; •to harass, defame, or discriminate against any person on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, race, age, national origin, or disability; •to upload viruses, malicious code, or attempt to interfere with the security or functioning of the Platform; •to spam, scrape, or use automated means to access the Platform without our prior written consent; or •to circumvent the peer review or verification process, including by attempting to influence a Reviewer improperly or by suggesting a Reviewer with an undisclosed conflict of interest. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access for violating any of the above. 6. Methodology and Module Submission and Review 6.1. Accuracy and originality. By submitting a Methodology or Module, you represent that it is your own original work (or that you hold the necessary rights to submit it), that it does not infringe any third party's intellectual property rights, and that all information provided in the submission form (title, keywords, Developer and Funder details) is accurate. 6.2. No guarantee of acceptance. Submission of a Methodology or Module does not guarantee acceptance. Submissions are evaluated by Reviewers and may be returned with a Major Revision Required, Minor Revision Required, Accepted, or Rejected outcome, or such other outcome categories as the Center publishes from time to time. 6.3. Timelines. Any review timelines communicated to you are estimates only and is not a guarantee of the date on which review will be completed. 6.4. Suggested Reviewers. If you suggest Reviewers as part of your submission, you represent that, to your knowledge, they have no undisclosed conflict of interest with you, your organization, or the submission. The Center retains sole discretion to accept, reject, or replace any suggested Reviewer. 6.5. Fees. Submission and revision review fees are payable in accordance with our published Fee Schedule [CONFIRM: link] and Section 10 below. 7. Biodiversity Greenhouse Gas Removal Program — Applicant Representations 7.1. By applying to open a Program ID and submitting the organizational verification documents described in our Privacy Policy (company extract, signatory list, bank statement or reference letter, financial statements, beneficial ownership documentation), you represent and warrant that: •your organization is duly organized and validly existing under the laws of its jurisdiction of formation; •the person submitting these Terms and the associated documents on behalf of the organization has the authority to do so; and •all documents and information provided are true, accurate, and current as of the date of submission. 7.2. You agree to promptly notify the Center of any material change to the information provided (for example, a change in beneficial ownership, signatories, or financial standing) for as long as your Program ID remains active. 7.3. The Center reserves the right to request updated verification documents at any stage of the Program and to suspend a Project's progress through Formulation, Validation, Monitoring & Reporting, or Verification pending resolution of any discrepancy. 8. Intellectual Property and Licensing 8.1. Platform IP. The Platform's design, branding, and underlying software are the property of the Center (or its licensors). These Terms do not transfer any ownership of Platform intellectual property to you. 8.2. Your Submission. You retain ownership of the intellectual property in your Submission. By submitting a Methodology or Module and executing the associated licensing agreement, you grant the Center, and — upon Acceptance — the public, the rights described in that agreement, understood to be a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This means that, once Accepted, your Methodology or Module may be freely used, adapted, and redistributed by others, provided you are credited as the author. 8.3. For Biodiversity Greenhouse Gas Removal Program submissions (project design documents, monitoring and verification reports), the scope of rights granted to the Center and to the public [CONFIRM: whether these follow the same CC BY 4.0 approach as Methodologies, or a narrower license — this affects what Section 9 below can say about public availability of project documents]. 9. Publication on the Public Registry 9.1. Consistent with our Privacy Policy, when a Methodology, Module, or Project is Accepted or Registered, certain submission data and the associated document will be published on the Platform's public registry so that its status can be independently verified by third parties. 9.2. You acknowledge that publication is a core function of the Platform and, except where the Center determines that correction or retraction is warranted (for example, due to fraud, error, or a successful appeal), Accepted Methodologies, Modules, and Projects will remain part of the historical public record even if your account is later closed. 10. Fees, Billing, and Payment Processing 10.1. You agree to pay all fees applicable to the Program you use, in accordance with the Fee Schedule in effect at the time payment is due. 10.2. We reserve the right to change our Fee Schedule at any time; changes will apply to Submissions made after the effective date of the change. 10.3. Payments are processed under SEPLS CCRRC. You are responsible for providing accurate billing information. 11. Refund Policy Submission and review fees on this platform are non-refundable once review has commenced, regardless of the review outcome, because the fee compensates for the Reviewer time and administrative cost incurred. If you believe a payment was made in error or charged incorrectly, contact us at sepls.crr.cert@gmail.com and we will investigate in good faith. 12. International Conference Registration 12.1. Registration for the International Conference on Carbon Credits and SEPLS for Combating Climate Change is subject to the fee and cancellation policy published on the Conference registration page. 12.2. Accepted abstracts and presentation materials may be included in Conference proceedings or promotional materials, consistent with Annex A of our Privacy Policy regarding photography and recording at the event. 13. Website Availability and Accuracy of Information We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time without liability to you. While we aim for accuracy, the Platform may occasionally contain typographical errors or omissions relating to fees, descriptions, or other content; we reserve the right to correct these at any time. 14. Disclaimer of Warranties The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Center disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free, or that any review outcome will meet your expectations. The Platform is intended to support methodology and project review; it does not constitute financial, legal, or investment advice. 15. Limitation of Liability To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Center shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including loss of income, data, or business opportunity — arising out of or connected with your use of the Platform. Our aggregate liability arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the total fees you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim. 16. Indemnification You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Center, National Cheng Kung University, and their officers, employees, and agents from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees arising from your Submission, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right. 17. Termination and Suspension We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, remove or reject a Submission, or revoke a Program ID at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, provided false information, or engaged in conduct that undermines the integrity of the review or registry process. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 8, 9, 15, and 16) will continue to apply. 18. Links to Third-Party Sites The Platform may link to third-party websites or resources. We do not control and are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any third-party site. 19. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution These Terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan. The language of these Terms and any proceedings arising from them is English. In case of dispute, respective laws in Taiwan will be referred to for arbitration and resolution. 20. Severability, Assignment, and General Provisions If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Center regarding the Platform. 21. Changes and Amendments We may amend these Terms at any time. Amendments take effect upon posting to the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after an amendment constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. 22.
